My last sensory play post was really well received and as Christmas is now upon us I thought it would be fun to do a festive version too. Everything you will need for these ideas you are likely to already have. After all, this time of year can get expensive! As Freddie is getting older, I have found our days are much easier when I plan in a bit of structured play. Unfortunately at the moment Freddie’s toys of choice include cables, my laptop, the Christmas tree and heavy candles… Rather than getting frustrated after the third time he has attempted to suck the end of a cable, setting up a simple invitation to play provides a much safer distraction!
Freddie’s tenth month has been a complete whirlwind. We have had lots of lovely moments including Freddie’s first word which was so special. Unfortunately Freddie has also struggled with teething and I was unlucky enough to catch two bugs in one week! He is now wearing size 12-18 month clothing because he is super duper long. Besides the teething, Freddie’s tenth month has been a lot of fun and with the run up to Christmas everything feels that bit more magical.
Now that December has arrived, I have really been getting into the festive spirit. I have started buying/making some of G and I’s favourite Christmas treats but realised the majority of them were unsuitable for BLW! As Freddie is almost ten months old, he can eat most things however I am very conscious of his salt/sugar intake. I thought it would be fun to make/find a few, BLW friendly treats that babies can enjoy over the festive period. My previous weaning posts have been really popular and Christmas baking is too exciting not to post about! And, because Christmas can be stressful, I have snuck in a very easy cocktail recipe for you too!
When you are pregnant, you know that your life is going to change. You anticipate sleepless nights, early morning cuddles, a mountain of nappies and falling in love. But something I didn’t really think about was that I might not feel like ‘Me’ for a long time post-baby. That’s not to say I was unhappy, just that I didn’t feel like myself for several months after having Freddie. I didn’t expect it so it took me by surprise and I spent a long time wondering when exactly I would feel like ‘Me’ again.
I recently discovered the lovely Caitylis’ blog, her photography skills are incredible and she is currently pregnant with her first baby- so exciting! She started a ‘Linky’ where you share your favourite photographs from the previous month and I absolutely love this idea. One of my favourite things about my blog is being able to look back on past events, feelings and memories! Joining in was a no brainer. I also think it is interesting to share more about the story behind the pictures I share on Instagram. I hope you enjoy hearing about mine!
