DOGS & BABIES | TOP TIPS FOR A HARMONIOUS HOME

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen our two pups pop up regularly in my stories and pictures. I have had quite a few messages and comments over the past few months about the dogs and how they get on with Freddie. Also, what we did to prepare them for Freddie’s arrival and how they have adjusted to Freddie being mobile (and chasing them around…).

I have compiled the top tips I think you need to know for helping your dog adapt to your new baby. Most of these will apply if you buy/adopt a dog post-baby as well.

(Please be aware that I am not a dog trainer and every dog is different. With a rescue dog/puppy it is best to seek advice from the rescue or your vet. You know your dog best so please adapt the tips below to suit your pet!).

FIVE BABY PRODUCTS I REGRET BUYING

I am quite an impatient person and so during my pregnancy I was really keen to buy absolutely everything I thought we would need. In hindsight, I wish I had waited to see what sort of baby Freddie was and what our preferences would be.

If you are currently pregnant, hopefully this post will give you an idea of which products not to buy or which to wait until your baby is here. If you’ve had a baby, I would love to know if you agree with any of these! Obviously, this is just my opinion and everyone has different preferences.

PARENTING ADVICE YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO

When you are pregnant, suddenly everyone feels entitled to offer their ‘advice’. Most of the time it is well-intentioned but it can be a bit intimidating as first time parents. In my experience, a lot of the advice is completely useless! However there are a few things that I was told, that I agree with and I think you should listen to.

FREDDIE’S 11 MONTH UPDATE | TEETHING, SLEEPING & MILESTONES

During last months update I talked about the month being a bit of a whirlwind of highs and lows and this month was very similar. However, I absolutely love this age. Freddie cracks me up every single day, he is just so funny and mischievous and his personality shines though more and more each day. I feel so proud that he is mine and that I have helped to shape the little person he is becoming.

On the other hand, I feel incredibly emotional that the next time I write an update, Freddie will be a year old. To say his first year has flown by is a total understatement. Of course, he will always be my baby but it is so bittersweet. I will be talking about that more including his first birthday preparations and gift ideas but for now, here is an update on Freddie at eleven months old.
