MAMA’S WARDROBE | AFFORDABLE AUTUMN FASHION (BREASTFEEDING FRIENDLY)

Autumn is definitely on it’s way and I have been thinking a lot about updating my wardrobe. Since being a Mama, I have found it really difficult to know what suits me. My body has changed a lot since last Autumn, being pregnant and having a baby will change things just a bit! But I am only twenty-six so I still want to wear clothes that reflect the current trends. As I am slightly obsessed with buying baby boy clothes and currently on maternity leave, budget is an important consideration too. With that in mind. I have put together some current favourites that are all under fifty pounds (and some are actually half price right now!). I have created a board with more ideas for Breastfeeding Friendly Clothes here if you want some further inspo!*Everything in this post is breastfeeding friendly which is obviously important to me because I am still breastfeeding my seven month old.

ASOS | Own brand and other brands!

Chunky Cardigan (ASOS, £30) This looks ridiculously cosy and will be so easy to throw over a pair of jeans and a t-shirt whilst still looking like you have actually made an effort! Chunky cardigans seem to hide a multitude of sins and are great for Autumn when you are never quite sure whether you will need that extra layer.

2 Floral High Neck Shirt (Y.A.S, £48) This is a little bit pricey but I think it is something you could get a lot of wear out of. With a pair of black skinny jeans and a nice pair of shoes it’s dressy enough to wear on the odd baby-free date but with a pair of ripped jeans and trainers it could be dressed down too. ( For breastfeeding I would wear a vest top underneath and pull the blouse up, vest top down- hey presto easy boob access!).

3 Off The Shoulder Ribbed Jumper (Vila, £25) This is the perfect jumper to throw on when your baby doesn’t want to be put down so you can get ready and you have had no sleep… Chuck this on with a pair of jeans and you have a cosy outfit with a slightly sexy shoulder reveal. Breastfeeding friendly too because you could pull it down or up depending on your preference!

Lace up back jumper (£35) This is actually designed for breastfeeding but you could wear it whether you are breastfeeding or not. I love the colour of this, it’s a really vibrant red and I am trying to experiment a but with colour as I do have a preference for grey… lots of grey. It is nice to have some items of clothing that are specifically designed for feeding, especially in the early days!

5 Friday’ T-shirt (Bershka, £5.99) This is a bargain and would be so easy to throw on and look like you have made an effort. Plus I love Friday, best day of the week!

6. Striped Nursing Sweatshirt (ASOS, £22) I actually have this and I love it. It is designed for feeding but only because it ties at the side so you could wear it whether or not you are breastfeeding. It’s really flattering and super soft.

H&M/Tesco F & F

Floral Woven Scarf (H&M, £5.49 £8.99) I love the print of this scarf and it would be the perfect thing to chuck over my baby boy if he is distracted whilst breastfeeding out and about. This over a simple grey t-shirt with a nice jacket would look really put together and fuss-free.

2 Embroidered Denim Dress (H&M, £20.99 £34.99) Finding dresses that I can feed in can be tricky but this dress can button down which is great. I think with a pair of tights, boots and a leather jacket this would look lovely. Plus it’s a bargain!

3 Lace Top (H&M, £12.49 £24.99) This top looks a lot more expensive that it actually is which is always helpful when you are on a budget. I know it might not seem practical  but sometimes it is nice to put on something a little bit dressier, especially if you are having a bit of a rubbish day. Another sale bargain!

Light Grey Suede Trainers (H&M, £18.99 £34.99) For real suede, these trainers are such a steal! This colour will go with absolutely everything and as a busy Mama, appropriate footwear is very necessary. I love these!

Burgundy Cord Pinafore (F&F @ Tesco, £20) I love the colour of this and cord seems to be everywhere at the moment. For breastfeeding you can simply unhook one of the straps and then pull your top up! This is such a great price and I love the rose gold detail too.

Khaki Knitted Jumper (H&M, £9.99 £17.99The neckline of this combined with the slouchy fit would be so flattering on most body types. I love khaki green because I think it flatters most skin tones and you could layer this jumper up with a vest top underneath and then a jacket on top for the chillier weather. Great price too!

So that’s it! My current favourite new clothing items for this Autumn. The H&M sale is only on for a short period of time so check those items out soon if they take your fancy. This is a very different post for me so I would love to hear you thoughts in the comments below!

Thanks for reading,

Amy
