I could talk about my wedding, particularly the planning process, for hours; I loved every minute of it. My last wedding post was really popular so I asked over on Instagram if you wanted to see more, the answer was a resounding yes. Today’s post is a round up of my top budget bridesmaid dresses. When planning my own wedding, this time of year was a great time to buy Bridesmaid dresses as every shop has plenty of occasion dresses ready for Christmas and New Year. If you aren’t a bridesmaid/bride but are on the lookout for a special occasion dress, then hopefully this post will give you some great ideas too!
A quick bit of advice about the bridesmaid dress buying process. Think really carefully about the shape of the dress you choose. Within my group of bridesmaids, every woman was a different shape. From the outset, I said that it was up to them whether they wanted to choose a mix of styles or just one. They all decided they wanted to wear the same dress so we began our search. What worked well (considering all of my bridesmaids lived in different places), was sending them my top five dresses for them to choose their favourites. I then ordered them all, tried them on and sent them the pictures. That way they could see what they looked like on an actual body. From there they chose their favourite. The whole process was stress-free and so it might be worth doing the same if your bridesmaids aren’t all available for multiple trips to shop/try on together.
TFNC Sateen Bow Back Maxi Dress £50 (Grey) | I love this one so much I had to include it twice in both colours! The price is amazing, the style is simple but so beautiful and the back is incredible. Bra options would be a consideration for this one however I think it would look amazing in photographs as the style is timeless. It comes in plus size too.
ASOS Ruched Mesh Bardot Maxi £65 (Dusky Pink) | I love the colour of this dress and I think it would have been a top option for my wedding had it been available at the time. It is such a romantic and pretty style. The price is amazing as well!
TFNC Sateen Bow Back Maxi Dress £50 (Nude) | Nude seems to be a really popular choice for bridesmaid dresses at the moment. It looks great on olive skin tones (or with a bit of fake tan!) and will suit any colour theme.
ASOS Lace Cami Midi Dress £52.50
£75 (Mink) | This is such a pretty option and it is currently on sale! I love the lace detail and the colour would work for most skin tones. I also think this style is a style that your bridesmaids could wear again afterwards.
TFNC Lace Detail Midi Dress £70 (Winter Wine) | I adore the colour of this dress, it would be so perfect for an Autumn/Winter wedding or for Valentines day! It comes in petite, tall and plus size which is great.
ASOS Embroidered Mesh Maxi Dress £75 (Powder Blue) | I recently ordered this as an option for G’s very fancy work Christmas do. It is so beautiful and the mesh looks lovely on. It would be great option for a wedding in the colder months and it has great coverage for any body conscious bridesmaids too.
Scarlett Embellished Tulle Maxi Dress £149 (Purple) | This is a pricier option but I added it in because it is utterly gorgeous. If you love this one, maybe keep an eye out for it in the January sales because you might be able to snap it up much more cheaply!
Warehouse Tiered Lace Dress £89 (Dark Green) | If you are having a more ‘Vintage’ style wedding I think this dress would be the perfect option. I love the tiers of lace and the little cap sleeves would be really flattering.
Lipsy Sequin Halter Dress £75 (Navy) | This is a really figure-hugging style, but if you have bridesmaids who feel confident wearing this shape, I think it would look great. Navy has been a really popular colour theme this year and it looks really striking in photographs.
Chi Chi London Lace Midi Prom Dress £70 (Mink) | This style is so flattering, it nips in at the waist and then flares out which would flatter most body shapes. The lace on the bottom is so beautiful and for a Spring wedding, this dress would be perfect.
ISSA Olivia Deep V-maxi Dress £119 (Champagne) | This one comes in multiple different colours so it is worth checking out the whether the other options would work for your colour theme. I love the simplicity of this style and again, it would flatter every shape.
Maya High Neck Embroidered Rose Tulle Maxi Dress £105 (Pale Mauve) | On the slightly pricier side but I do think this style looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. I love the floral details and that mesh skirt is just dreamy.
ASOS Embellished Mesh Panel Maxi Dress £120 (Grey) | If you want a dress that makes an impact, this one is for you! I love the embellishment and if you are having a glamorous wedding, this would be my top pick.
Chi Chi London Premium Lace Dress £72 (Navy) | Navy seems to work well on most skin tones and again, this style is really flattering. It is also an option that can be worn again afterwards!
Quiz Sequin V Neck Fishtail £89.99 (Rose Gold) | So this dress is not going to be for everyone, but if your wedding is very formal then I think this dress would look striking in photographs. Also, when else do you get to wear a full on sequin number?
Looking at all of these dress options is making me want to choose my Bridesmaid dresses all over again! If you are in the wedding planning process, I hope that this gave you a bit of inspiration and reassured you that you don’t need to stick to traditional Bridal stores in order to find the perfect Bridesmaid dresses. Or if you have a posh do coming up hopefully this gave you a few ideas too!
Thanks for reading and see you on Wednesday,
