I have posted quite a few times about our weaning journey so far. Weaning can be such a minefield and when you are already trying to juggle everything else motherhood entails, thinking of new meal ideas can become a bit of a chore.
Below is a week of Freddie’s meals (from last Friday to today), which I hope might give you some inspiration if you are in need of some fresh ideas! Freddie is almost eleven months and so we almost exclusively do baby-led weaning but I also spoon feed Freddie things like Chilli, Spaghetti Bolognese and soup. The key is not to stress to much about which approach to follow, just do whatever works for you and your baby.
Freddie has the same breakfast most weekdays. This is because G likes to feed him his breakfast before he goes to work so it needs to be something quick. Freddie has the Organix stage three muesli (a firm favourite!) with a bit of fruit puree and some cut up fruit. At the weekends, he will sometimes have a cooked breakfast with us too.
Saturday | Picnic lunch: mini chipolata sausages, cheddar cheese chunks, lentil sticks and greek yogurt.
Sunday | Homemade burgers (lean beef mince, grated carrot, diced red onion and mixed herbs). Grilled peppers and courgettes. Nectarine slices.
Monday | Haddock, peas and a couple of chips (Freddie shared my main meal when we had lunch out). Selection of fruit.
Tuesday | Picnic lunch: Salmon, sliced cocktail sausages, cheddar chunks. Fruit salad.
Wednesday | Meatballs with a homemade pepper, red onion and spinach. Sliced avocado.
Thursday | Pitta Chicken Pizza (recipe here- minus the chicken). Herby, sliced, giant mushrooms.
Friday | Roasted tomato and sausage pasta (sneaky frozen spinach added). Greek yogurt.
Saturday | Veggie quesadillas made in the toastie maker (sneaky veg sauce spread on a tortilla with grated cheese on top). Greek yogurt with fruit puree.
Sunday | Fish Pie (Piccolo pouch), rice cakes and raspberries. Greek yogurt with fruit puree.
Monday | Low salt mini beef pie and broccoli. Greek yogurt with fruit puree.
Tuesday | Homemade chilli (I cook this in a big batch and then freeze in Freddie sized portions!) and crusty bread. Greek yogurt with fruit puree.
Wednesday | Tuna & Cheese toastie. Cherries and greek yogurt with fruit puree.
Thursday | Chicken casserole (Ella’s Pouch). Fresh pineapple and greek yogurt.
Friday | Chicken Soup (low salt) and pitta bread. Greek yogurt with fruit puree.
