FIVE BABY PRODUCTS I REGRET BUYING

FIVE BABY PRODUCTS I REGRET BUYING

I am quite an impatient person and so during my pregnancy I was really keen to buy absolutely everything I thought we would need. In hindsight, I wish I had waited to see what sort of baby Freddie was and what our preferences would be.

If you are currently pregnant, hopefully this post will give you an idea of which products not to buy or which to wait until your baby is here. If you’ve had a baby, I would love to know if you agree with any of these! Obviously, this is just my opinion and everyone has different preferences.

BABY TOWELS

Although they look adorable, I have found baby towels to be really unpractical past the first two months or so. After that time, they are too small to really snuggle baby up in and I much prefer using a proper bath towel.

RING SLING

I have three slings which I absolutely love. The Close Caboo Lite (easier version of a wrap sling), the Ergo 360 (which my husband loves too!) and the Connecta Solar Weave (perfect for hot weather!). I highly recommend them all. I thought a ring sling would be useful but I just couldn’t get the knack!

ANGEL CARE MONITOR

Prior to Freddie being born, we bought the Angel Care monitor with movement sensor pad. However, Freddie slept in a co-sleeper for the first seven months and so the sensor pad couldn’t be used. I much preferred having a video monitor once he was sleeping alone. When he makes a noise it is easy to see whether he is actually awake without barging in and disturbing him!

BABY SWING

I bought a fairly inexpensive baby swing from Mothercare a few weeks after Freddie was born. I had hoped he would nap/be put down in it to give me some hands free time but he absolutely hated it! He far preferred being worn in the sling so it was a waste of money for us.

MINI POTS FOR WEANING

Before we started weaning Freddie, I got a bit too excited and purchased lots of little weaning pots. Huge waste of money because we barely used them. I much preferred using ice cube trays and then popping the puree cubes into ziplock bags. Far cheaper too!

Let me know whether you enjoyed this post, it is a bit odd talking about things I wish I hadn’t bought but I hope it saves you a bit of money! Of course, every baby is different so I would love to know which product you regretted buying? To see some of my favourite baby products, check out this post!

Thanks for reading and see you on Sunday,

Amy

Ha, my list is so similar! Baby towels = agree. Angelcare monitor = we’ve never used the sensor pad that came with it. Baby swing = Maddie hated it! Xx

It seemed like a good idea pre-baby but I didn’t think about the fact that he would be in a co-sleeper! Fail! Xx

I love our angel care monitor but totally agree about baby towels – they’re just not big enough!

I think I would have loved it to if we had used it sooner or if we had got the version with the camera too! It has great reviews doesn’t it xx
