Last week I shared my ‘1st Birthday Gift Guide‘. Today I’m sharing five easy party hacks, perfect for making planning your child’s party a little bit easier. This post includes a giveaway featuring ‘Appy Drinks Co‘, so stay tuned until the end to see how you can win a bundle of forty juices!
As it is Freddie’s first birthday, we are keeping his party a very small family affair. However I know it won’t be long before birthday parties will become a lot busier! I hope these tips help to keep your party planning process stress-free.
CONSIDER THE TIMING OF YOUR PARTY
Catering for a lot of children (and adults!) can get expensive so thinking about the timing of your party can make a big difference. Avoiding lunch/dinner time means you won’t need to supply a main meal which will help to keep costs down! An afternoon party can be a lovely option with just cake/snacks needed instead of a full buffet.
MAKE YOUR OWN WRAPPING PAPER
As well as saving money, this is a lovely idea to get children involved in the party planning process. Rolls of plain paper can be picked up cheaply or even A3 paper should cover most gifts. For younger children or toddlers, a paint splatter effect is so easy to create and looks really effective!
BUY A SUPERMARKET CAKE AND DECORATE
This is something I was planning to do for Freddie’s birthday but Granny has stepped in and wants to make his first cake! There is enough stress when you are planning a birthday party without worrying about creating a baking masterpiece. Buying a simple cake from a supermarket and then icing it to fit your party theme can be a much easier option.
PRE-PORTION UP LITTLE LUNCH BOXES
This is something I am planning to do when Freddie is old enough to invite friends to his party (bit of a scary thought!). Cardboard lunch boxes like these are such a great and easy way to prepare in advance. They would also save any squabbles over food too!
BUY JUICE BOXES/SACHETS
Juice boxes have so many different uses! Add a label to create easy place settings or open up one end of a carton and add a lollipop stick before freezing to make healthy ice lollies.
A little whole ago, I was kindly sent a variety of Appy Juice cartons to try. Appy Juices are vegan approved, made with natural ingredients, contain no GMOs, gluten, or added sugars/artificial preservatives. Freddie has only had breastmilk or water so far but I added some of the mixed berry drink to his water and he absolutely loved it. I plan to keep juices as more of a treat but I think it is so important to allow everything in moderation. I tried the tropical flavour and plain apple which were both delicious. I love the ethical stance of this company and their core values and would definitely purchase in future.
Appy Drinks are very kindly giving away a bundle of forty juices to one lucky reader of this blog! You will win eight boxes of juice in total as seen below. All you need to do to enter is follow the instructions using the form below. The giveaway will end on Sunday 18th February at 9pm GMT and the winner will be contacted soon after. Uk only, must be over eighteen to enter.
Thanks for reading and see you on Wednesday,
*Appy Kids Co very kindly gifted us the juices to try. This is not a sponsored post and as always, this is my honest opinion of the products.
