If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen our two pups pop up regularly in my stories and pictures. I have had quite a few messages and comments over the past few months about the dogs and how they get on with Freddie. Also, what we did to prepare them for Freddie’s arrival and how they have adjusted to Freddie being mobile (and chasing them around…).

I have compiled the top tips I think you need to know for helping your dog adapt to your new baby. Most of these will apply if you buy/adopt a dog post-baby as well.

(Please be aware that I am not a dog trainer and every dog is different. With a rescue dog/puppy it is best to seek advice from the rescue or your vet. You know your dog best so please adapt the tips below to suit your pet!).

I have wanted to introduce a favourites post for a little while now but I wasn’t sure how it would be received. I asked over on Instagram whether this post would interest you, and the resounding answer was YES. I am really not sure how interesting I am, but by sharing the below things with you, I hope you might feel you know me a little better!

I often discover new products based on the recommendations of other Mama’s as well as bloggers/YouTubers so please do let me know if there is something you love, that you think I would too.

We are officially in the in-betweeny bit. That post-Christmas lull before the New Year begins, where you aren’t quite ready to get back to normality. When the Christmas tree still looks magical but you begin to want to take everything down and put it away ready to start afresh. When you can’t quite face doing a normal weekly shop but the party food is starting to run out and you begin to crave a bit more of the healthy stuff!

Usually, I find this time hard because after all of the magic of Christmas is over, everything feels a bit lacklustre. Last year, I was back at work and I remember feeling really blue for a week or so. This year is a little different as G has the week off but I thought it might be useful to do a post with some ways to perk you up if you have the post-Christmas/January blues.

I asked over on Instagram which post you would like to see today (my last post until after Christmas- eek!). This post won. Although it might be too late to buy these gifts, it might give you some ideas for birthdays or, if you’re nosy like me, this is the post for you! Lots of these things have now gone into the sale so you may be able to grab a bargain too. I wrote a post all about Freddie’s gifts so I haven’t included those!

As I have been on maternity leave this year, I have been far more budget conscious than in previous years. Usually I set a budget for each person and then if I spend less I add that onto to another person’s gift. I prefer to buy the present I feel that person will enjoy rather than keeping to an equal budget but that is a personal preference. I also tend to search for any discount codes before buying online and usually manage to find one; it is always worth checking!

The lovely Rachel from ‘From Rachel Claire‘ created this tag to get everyone in the festive mood. I thought this was the perfect post considering it is now only four days until Christmas Eve! This is also the first day of my ‘Festive Five Challenge‘ over on Instagram. Every day, between now and the 24th December, post a photo matching the prompt with the hashtag #festivefivechallenge and tagging me @amyjaneandbaby. Today’s prompt is G I F T. It is going to be a great way to get into the festive mood, especially if it is your first Christmas with a little one! I can’t wait to check out everyone’s entries and I will be sharing them on my stories too. You can find more info here!

Right, enough rambling! On with the tag…
