FREDDIE’S 11 MONTH UPDATE | TEETHING, SLEEPING & MILESTONES

During last months update I talked about the month being a bit of a whirlwind of highs and lows and this month was very similar. However, I absolutely love this age. Freddie cracks me up every single day, he is just so funny and mischievous and his personality shines though more and more each day. I feel so proud that he is mine and that I have helped to shape the little person he is becoming.

On the other hand, I feel incredibly emotional that the next time I write an update, Freddie will be a year old. To say his first year has flown by is a total understatement. Of course, he will always be my baby but it is so bittersweet. I will be talking about that more including his first birthday preparations and gift ideas but for now, here is an update on Freddie at eleven months old.

BABY-LED WEANING | WHAT MY BABY EATS IN A WEEK

I have posted quite a few times about our weaning journey so far. Weaning can be such a minefield and when you are already trying to juggle everything else motherhood entails, thinking of new meal ideas can become a bit of a chore.

Below is a week of Freddie’s meals (from last Friday to today), which I hope might give you some inspiration if you are in need of some fresh ideas! Freddie is almost eleven months and so we almost exclusively do baby-led weaning but I also spoon feed Freddie things like Chilli, Spaghetti Bolognese and soup. The key is not to stress to much about which approach to follow, just do whatever works for you and your baby.

FREDDIE’S TEN MONTH UPDATE | HIS FIRST WORD

Freddie’s tenth month has been a complete whirlwind. We have had lots of lovely moments including Freddie’s first word which was so special. Unfortunately Freddie has also struggled with teething and I was unlucky enough to catch two bugs in one week! He is now wearing size 12-18 month clothing because he is super duper long. Besides the teething, Freddie’s tenth month has been a lot of fun and with the run up to Christmas everything feels that bit more magical.

BLW | FESTIVE BABY TREATS (& ONE FOR THE MAMA’S!)

Now that December has arrived, I have really been getting into the festive spirit. I have started buying/making some of G and I’s favourite Christmas treats but realised the majority of them were unsuitable for BLW! As Freddie is almost ten months old, he can eat most things however I am very conscious of his salt/sugar intake. I thought it would be fun to make/find a few, BLW friendly treats that babies can enjoy over the festive period. My previous weaning posts have been really popular and Christmas baking is too exciting not to post about! And, because Christmas can be stressful, I have snuck in a very easy cocktail recipe for you too!

FREDDIE’S DAILY ROUTINE | 9 MONTHS OLD

I talked about why we introduced a routine in this post a few months ago and had some great feedback from other Mama’s. As I discussed more in that post, I had tried to introduce a routine when Freddie was around three months old and it was a complete disaster!

All it achieved was a lot of stress and a huge sense of failure on my part. My advice, as in most things when it comes to Motherhood, is to follow your baby’s lead. Around six months old, when we started weaning, a routine seemed to naturally fall into place. After making some changes very recently, his sleep and mood has improved dramatically and I thought it might be useful to share our current routine. View Full Post
